Report of Batchrep Meeting 2008 (4 dec 2008)

The main route for information to reach SRC is imusrc@gmail.com or go directly to the SRC room. Students can also take down the SRC members' phone number listed on the SRC room door. Our campus forum http://www.imucampus.com/ acts only as a back up. However, minute of batchrep meetings will be posted on the forum now onwards.

The SRC has already managed to get new student lounge carpet laid, large pool table and is currently working on a new foosball table. RM60k has already been approved to furnish our student lounge. Any suggestions, feel free to tell SRC about it :)

Hilltop carpark will be graded as a more affordable alternative (relined using small and smooth pebbles about 2 inch thick). IMU has no plans to TAR the roads there as it would officially cost IMU 2mil and IMU currently is planning a construction on top by 2011.


ME/DT109 onwards, those who hold citizenship of other countries except country of PMS chosen will have no problem matching.


Congrats to orientation of M208 and Bpharm. Complaints by students and parents are far less compared to previous batches. O.Os contribute too ^.^


2009 IMU BALL will be held in JW Marriot Putrajaya as it would be comparatively cheaper. Buses will be arranged for those who don't have transport. Those who can drive, Putrajaya is oni 20 mins from IMU. Alcohol will be an option the ball however those who don't wish to drink alcohol can make special arrangements to sit on non-alcohol tables.


GYM as been relocated to 4th floor at the former SRC room. There is no dance room at the moment. However, 1st floor of the new annex building will be open to students from 8am-5:30pm for practices. Other places (Dewan Chancellor, LT, Audi) will also be open for bookings for practices after 5:30pm.


Fees will be increased to USD 14k for international students and locals affecting future batches. (Phewwww...)
Anybody / clubs who wanna raise funds, now it's the time to plan for food events.. new batches will be coming in... we need CASH!!!!!!


There’s vast collection of CDs to access images in the library.


Lost and found will still be handled by the Admin. However, a permanent student will be paid to set up a table in the canteen to display all lost and found items every Friday during lunch hour -12~2pm

SRC requests
IMU marketing currently needs image designs that can be used to make up IMU's brand. Talented batchmates strongly encouraged to show their talents. Kindly mail ur designs to imusrc@gmail.com
· 1st prize RM1000, 2nd prize RM500 and 3rd prize RM300. Please don't be upset if ur design is not chosen for the 1st try as it would be kept by the SRC and be used on other events :)

There will be no more monopoly for canteen operators. Anyone has information of caterers or restaurants who are willing to operate in IMU is encouraged to approach SRC for discussion. It will be implemented after the new cafeteria is ready.

IMU is looking for new items to be given "free" to new students coming to IMU. It will be included in the IMU bag. Suggestions (pendrive, branded pens, ipod etc..) please email to imusrc@gmail.com

IELTS needed for matching to PMS. Those who have not taken IELTS please approach IELTS ASAP. Band of overall 7.0 is needed for PMS.

Next year onwards, hilltop carpark will be locked from 7pm onwards due to security reasons. Orientation commitee are to inform juniors regarding to this.

Beloved Batchmates, those who are interested in running for SRC, start planning now.. Talk personally to SRC members about it so that they can guide u :) Good Luck for those who wanna run!

The SRC president wants to have a vote competition for IMU lecturers. For Example: Most dedicated, most talkative, funniest bla bla bla.... :) Email SRC about it!! Each batchmate, encouraged to come out wif 2!

Those who wanna work in IMU bukit jalil.. It's RM8 per hour!!! Find SRC :)

10 ppl needed as volunteers to guide prospective IMU students on IMU open day. RM30 per day! January 18-19.
