Photoshoot updates!

Hey guys. Tuesday and Wednesday were some good sessions. Thanks for showing up! I've taken about 60 people now, just um 140 more or so to go. ^^U

One thing I realized though, a lot of people prefer to have their pictures taken at the basketba l court. Which is fine, but we're really running out of spots! Also, I think a little variety in location would be better. Eg some indoors, some outdoors etc. The IMU interior may seem drab in contrast to the greenery, but what I don't want is everyone ending up with the same grass, trees, flowers, benches, poles. Juxtaposition is the word. Let's mix grass and steel banisters, wood benches and white shelves, flowery and minimalistic backgrounds together! I think it works far better like that.

Let me illustrate:

Morgan's picture taken on the 2nd floor outside the Faculty Cluster with reflective laminated glass. A world apart from the green-tinged background Ripa is in.
Monica's shot with a stark white background contrasting a pretty black dress. Mixed with a touch of bright blue in Yaw Shing's picture below.
Wai Cheong surrounded by leafy details and Manichelvi beside a steel banister and green potted plant, which is a nice contrast in itself.

There. Indoor pictures were just as nice weren't they? The sun-lit areas of IMU provide an endless opportunity for lots more backgrounds and angles that could turn out equally good, if not better, than the same old spots on the green zone. Think about it.

As for the words and stuff, I was just trying to envision what the final product would look like. Of course the design people will touch up and make it look better. The design and font here is very basic, purely experimental. Of course the questions are just random. Don't mind me. :P (Do note this is not the final order of things. I picked the pictures at random and just used to to illustrate a point.)

For the next few groups, I've decided to slot you guys in these times and locations. It's all based on the timetable and groups, eg if a group has CSU in the afternoon I'll take their photos in the late morning. And vice versa. It doesn't have to strictly follow group by group, if you see a bunch of people posing somewhere having their pics taken and you want to join in and don't mind waiting, go ahead and join us.

And also the Saturyday Vista shoot:
Saturday 13 March 2010
9am-11am Bukit Jalil Park

It's not strictly for Vista people, if you're non-Vistan and happen to be within the vicinity and want to get it over and done with, that's fine too.

For group S, T & U, I'm really sorry I will have to fit you guys up week after next. Unless you can come for the Saturday shoot. Be patient, we'll get there eventually. :)

Also some people have asked me if they could see their photos, ie if I could email it to them. Relax people, we'll let you see the final product before sending in for printing. :) We'll do the initial selection and editing, once we're done with that we'll probably fix a time for showing the pictures. I'll probably do it group by group again, eg group A come at this time, look at your selected photo, speak now or forever hold your peace. If you are not happy with the selected photo you can browse through the complete set and pick one you like. Though we'll already select the best one for you. :) I can't really put every single picture on the blog or email it to everyone; each photo is about 3MB and I'll have to resize every single one of them.

Um I think that's it for now. Hope all is well with you guys. :)
