  • Extended Matching Question (EMQ)
  • Modified Essay Questions (MEQ)
Practical
  • Objective-structured practical exam (OSPE)
Clinical Exam
  • Objective-structured clinical exam   (OSCE)
What is MEQ?

Assessment of clinical reasoning skills, understanding and knowledge of clinical and basic science and application of basic science to clinical problems. MEQ scenario usually contain facts for thinking from multidisciplinary approach. The modified essay question paper requires students to work through a patient case in a sequential manner (much like a Problem Based Learning tutorial).

What is EMQ?

The EMQ paper will be similar to the MCQ paper, in that there will be a question booklet and answer sheet, which candidates will complete by filling in lozenges (with a HB pencil only) to be read and marked by computer.

Each question in the question booklet will consist of an option list (lettered to reflect the answer sheet), a lead-in statement (which tells you clearly what to do), and then a list of one to five questions (each numbered, again to match the answer sheet).

The Timing Issue

I know it seems unfair, but there is really nothing we can do about the timing. The reason our timing is the way it is because IMU has to facilitate the new departments as well as make sure that there are no clashes between any classes and lecturers.

So we're really sorry but we can't really do anything about it.

However, this does not mean that we'll never have the 'glorious' 10:30 AM classes, our timetable might follow it next sem or in sem 5! You never know. The IMU timetable is ever-changing. :D

Dr. Esha's Lecture

Dr. Esha said that she would give a printout of her lecture to AAD. Once they receive it we will put it in the photocopy shop.

E-Learning

There are quite a few things about e-learning that is not working, such as the image gallery. We have brought this up in previous batch meetings and we were told that it is because IMU is building a new e-learning platform, so we'll have to wait patiently for a while.

So, as Kor Woi suggested, make full use of the MMS and their CDs till then.

Loads of love and cheers,
Zia
